I was looking for a workspace to fit next to the model railroad that Im building. Its a tight space - around 29 inches - and most desks, card tables, etc. are more than 30 inches. Fortunately, does a desk that is only 27-1/2 inches, and as you can see from the photos, it fits nicely.
gets bonus points for clear instructions and extra hardware (a spare screw in each of the various sizes). Assembly is a bit fiddly though, for a couple of reasons. First, there are several points in the process where you need a third hand to hold existing assembly, new part, and socket driver. Second, the desk top and monitor stand are fixed using bolts into threaded nylon bushes. The nylon feels relatively soft, and its easy to over-torque the bolt and strip the threads. I think I avoided serious damage, though, and the whole thing feels very solid.
Compact, solid, spare hardware, a bit fiddly
