This item is good! Satisfied. My son ended up with the smallest bedroom in the house (youngest child and all), so as hes getting older, were always looking for ways to save space. The most obvious and wonderful advantage to the bed/desk combo is having 2 essential pieces of furniture occupying the same footprint. Oh, and it looks cool as well! pieces are invariably stylish!
My one gripe has got to be the ladder. The narrow rungs hurt my feet when I try to use it. My son doesnt seem to mind, but he only weighs 45 pounds.thats much less pressure on his feet! And since Im not going to be climbing it much, its certainly not worth losing a star.
As others have indicated, assembly isnt bad at all, but is much easier with 2 pairs of hands. My son is really happy with his cool new bunk bed!
Post script: Weve had this bed in now for a while and continue to be happy! My son has set up the shelves with some of his treasures, and sometimes likes to hang a blanket to make a fort. I am planning on adding some lights (and I have something perfect in mind) for under the bed since it is dark.
It did take him a little while to get the hang of climbing up and down (hes only 6), and he still is afraid to have the ceiling fan on while hes up there. I did notice in better light that there was a dent in one of the posts, but I wont fault the brand for that! The biggest adjustment after having all the extra floor space? Making that bed! Holy moly, thats a pain, but not unexpected. Were happy and our little boy is as well.
Space Saver!
