The bed wasnt particularly difficult to build, however there is an extremely strong chemical smell from the wood that hasnt gotten any better after a week of letting it air out. I purchased this bed because in the description it says non-toxic, low Voc Finish, however that doesnt seem to be true. This is particularly worrisome because this bed is for young kids, and they are especially sensitive to VOCs.
We purchased the white frame, and maybe some of the other colors dont have this issue, but the white one is definitely a problem.
This is frustrating because my kids still dont have a bed they can sleep in, while weve been patiently trying to air out the room. We have every window in the place open, and have been using air purifiers and charcoal packs but the smell is still extremely strong.
If your kids have asthma or any lung conditions I would definitely avoid this bed.
