We purchased this for our six/year/old. She is in love with the bed! We love the shelving / it has so much more storage than the step/drawers we were looat and she can fit all her books in one place. The instructions for assembly were easy to follow; the bed took a few hours to set up still just because of how big and how many pieces there were. There is a mid/sizing in parts on the stairs. The upright panels have holes pre/drilled to drop the cross dowel nuts in, but the nuts are taller than the thickness of the panel by an eight of an inch or so. We were able to screw the bolts into it but had to do so extremely carefully as the wood was bulging and ready to split since the nut hole was not lined up properly with bolt hole. We were missing wheels for the trundle drawer but called the number from the packaging and customer service sent new wheels. Well, they said they did. Its been a week and we havent seen them yet, but we kind of like the bunk without the trundle drawer so far. The distance between the bottom bunk and top bunk is generous / not crowded like some others. The bed is somewhat wiggly when our 50/pound daughter is climbing around on the top (150/pound limit on top) but she is happy and we have it tucked into the corner of a room. It just isnt as heavy/solid as some of the other bunk beds we looked at, and we know not to rough/house or jump on the bed. The bottom is a 200/pound limit. Mentioning only because with 150 and 200 pounds comes fast with mattress and blankets. We are loointo little floating wall shelves for her book of the night and tissue box when she is in the top bunk; we may end up using the trundle wood panels to build some to match since we dont have the wheels yet and dont need a third bed in the bottom. This bed looks like it will last us a really long time and so far we are very pleased with it. Im pleased with my purchase.
