The velvet is very soft.So soft and comfortable. Just a little upset when I got my couch the chaise wasn't with it so I'm missing the rest of my couch and have to wait another 7 days for it to be shipped.The couch is beautiful and was not difficult to put together. Delivery was great. The color is just a tiny bit on the orange side rather than the true orange I expected. However I’d say it is captured as close as possible in the photos.
