We use this as a bench for our kittens to sunbathe and some extra kitchen/utility storage. The bench arrived without any damage and was incredibly easy to assemble. It has some internal supports across the top but gives a bit with anyone over 150 sitting on it. I (140) have stood and sat on it without any issue. Adorable bench! Would definitely recommend! Side note, the woven fabric is very easy to snag by kitten nails (as with most fabrics)
