My daughter and I assembled the bed in just a couple of hours. The drawers is what took the time. The bed assembled is very sturdy and looks very nice. I know some people complain about the drawers rolling on the floor, but not an issue in my mind. They work well and lock in to keep little fingers from getting into them. The head board is adjustable in height and once the bed was assembled we decided to move the head board to the higher position. 6 bolts and it was adjusted. The slats have small plastic ends that snap into the frame to hold them in place. So even with the drawers not installed the slats stay in place. I like this bed so much when my daughter moves out (college student now) and takes it, I will buy another for our new guest room! NOTE: The 2 boxes came a full week apart from each other.
