This product is made of solid wood not MDF board so it is less likely to break. I bought it when we found out we have another kid on the way. My two year old sleeps on the top bunk (on the floor) because we can use the railings. When my daughter is old enough she will move to that one and he will get the bottom. I had to make a piece to secure the railing while not being used as a bunk bed. When worth the money.
