I use the storage cabinet in my kitchen which does not have a broom closet or pantry. I spaced the shelves so the broom/mop fit in on one side, and use the other shelf for food storage containers, a mini-bar for wine and spirits, cookbooks and some food products, and a bin for cans to bring to the deposit refund place. I put different handles on it to make the style more modern. Yes, the material is thinner than usual pieces, but being aware of that from other reviews, I still think its a good product for the price. Assembly was quite easy -- I did it alone (Im 70 years old!). My only complaint is not having more shelf clips and shelves, though I could easily have shelves made and purchase clips. The shelf clip spacing is very limited, however, perhaps to minimize the weight of the unit. I purchased 2 of these and use the other to store yarn, fabric and other craft related items.
