Came in a giant box, was really hard to get into the house by myself, and I ended up bending a bottom piece from the jerking and thumping I had to do to get it into the house - so I suggest you wait until you have help to get it in if you can. My husband and I assembled it, it wasnt difficult. Honestly, the key is simply to choose the A or B setup and mark out the directions for the method you wont use, as the instructions for both assembly methods are side by side for each step throughout. Another tip is to tear out the hardware guide page once youre past that point to keep you from getting lost from flipping back to constantly reference. The only confusing part was that there was an included tool that seemed more like a part. The directions werent crystal clear that it was just a tool to help balance the pressure of hammering in the drawer rails before screwing them in to keep the hammer from making dents, so beware that confusing step. Most of the bed is solid, heavy material that is very sturdy. The only thing Id change is the particle wood pieces that lay flat on top of the frame to actually hold your mattress up. They dont cover 100% of the space, and while gaps are minimal and even, Id rather have a more sturdy material for that part and for the pieces to fit tightly into the space. It would get 5 stars were it not for that one aspect.
Overall it is nice and sturdy, was simple to assemble, no problems, and irritations were minor keeping in mind there were TWO competent adults working on the assembly.
Great platform bed
