Item arrived pretty much unscathed and damage/free; phew! The box was 100 lbs so be prepared to get help moving and installing. You WILL NEED at least 1 additional person. This is a so pretty cumbersome. Originally had a from a box store, which lasted about 5 years. This item was 1/2 the price, larger, and had good reviews.
Cons: 1/material (aluminum) seems thinmuch more thin and less beefy than the one I purchased 5 years agocost saving measures from manufacturer? We shall see
2/no hook. Sad. Can not hang our outdoor fan
Pros: 1/LOTS of parts to use/by that I mean if one part breaks over time, I assume you can just replace that ONE part versus having everything welded together from factory. Easier to ship a smaller replacement piece versus a large skeleton piece.
2/nice thick metal reinforcement braces provided for where the aluminum frame connects to one another
3/larger than typical box stores item. 1 extra foot really does matter
4/nice fabric material for roof, eaves, poles, etc. fabric and doesnt appear to be cheap or thin
Instal (with 1 helper human) in 3 hours. Directions OK to follow. Just go slow people!
We shall see how she does over this spring and summer months.
Tip/ DEFINITELY anchor this baby somehow. See photo. I used a tree downhill with rope as a lateral anchor so she doesnt move during the gusty wind patterns here in NJ. I also fil 1 gallon water/milk jugs w sand and marble chips and zip tied them to each base of the legs for more weight anchoring. She isnt moving ANYWHERE! lol
update 10/2021 / this patio Gazebo has held up remarkably during a few thunderstorms and wind storms the past year or so. The metal structure remained on the ground w the help of added sand bag weights attached to each leg. The canopy fabric also held up. No rips or tears at the seams, either. Good product.
Update Good alternative to big box stores
