Great potential, easy to assemble, but unit came damaged
I purchased this item in mid/June, in the middle of the global pandemic in hopes to get a bit more organized around the house now that we were all sheltered at home. I finally opened the box today, in mid August putting of opening until my husband could help me. Quarantine e/shopping lesson learned / open right away even if you dont plan to complete the project / you may be missing parts or the item may be damaged. These things happen!
I enjoy assembly projects. I looked at the video and realized I could assemble it myself. I was disappointed though upon removing the item from the box (photo 1), it was scuffed up / slightly damaged (photo 2) and some of the screws burrowed through the finished wood (photo 3). But I was semi/relieved when I noticed it was on the bottom and the burrowed screws were on the back. So I decided to continue on and live with the imperfections since they wouldnt be noticeable.
Assembly: The item came preassembled with the exception of attaching the base to the unit and the two shelves in the back. So finishing the assembly is super easy, everything you need to finish the assembly was in a nice neat package.
It wasnt until I opened the unit to assemble the shelf did I realize the bottom bracket was off (Photo 4) and the bracket in the middle wasnt finished being screwed in / the screw was inside sitting in the shelf. I was disappointed and called right away. I am returning the item and will repurchase a new one (unfortunately paying the restocking fee since it is past the return / exchange deadline).
Sturdy: From what I assembled the item seems very sturdy, however I had not added any weight with jewelry. So this could change. I can update once I have the new unit and put my jewelry in.
Appearance: I loved the dark wood finish and the on the front. It is just as appealing in person. The look of the swivel base with the shelves in the back is what draw me to purchase the item. I hope the 2nd one is better.
