Great Value, but hopefully you never have to pair the remote on a king!
I am a large guy sleeping on a very heavy Purple King mattress sitting on two of these (split king). Ive had it for over two years now, and its holding up fine and everything is still working perfectly. As a whole package, this is a great deal.
My complaints are centered around the remote and how it functions. With a split king, you have two twin frames. No biggie, until you realize that the control boxes operate independently. This means that if your batteries are a little weak, and you dont have the remote in the right place, there is potential for one side to operate and not the other. Easy enough to work around // I just recognize that I need to make sure the remote is close to the center of the bed when I use it.
I went to use it the other day and the batteries were corroded. No fault of the company / just the cheap batteries I used. However, the remote stopped working even with new batteries and I had to pair it to the bed again. This is where my complaint really comes in. The control boxes are not connected. However you arrange the bed, there will be one control box in the middle of it and you have to hit a small button to program the remote. You almost need a small child to crawl under the bed to hit the button for you. I managed to do it by programming one side, lifting it all the way up, and then crawling under the top part from here I was able to hit the button.
If the manufacturer checks here, Id really suggest they look into the remote programming as its my only real complaint. A couple of suggestions:
1. Instead of having them work independently, how about a cable that connects the two and when one receives a command it just broadcasts it to the other via the cable.
2. When the beds power on, have them run through the pairing process. I (like I assume most people do) have this plugged into a power strip under the bed. If I could have hit the power button to kill the power, then held the pairing buttons on the remote (head down, feet up) and restored power, both beds could be programmed at once without having to crawl underneath them.
All said and done, this has been a set/it/and/forget/it purchase. Once everything is paired, it works great until your remote needs to be paired. Id buy this again in a heartbeat, though.
