DISCLAIMER / Ive only had the product for one night. Ill update if opinion changes.
Ordered the full bed with twin trundle to transition grandson from toddler bed and I love it. Despite two issues with assembly instructions (explained below), it was incredibly easy to put together. Im a woman in my 50s and did it by myself with the supplied hex wrenches and a power screwdriver.
Bed and trundle were boxed and shipped separately (trundle arrive a day before bed), and there were no scratches, cracks, breaks or any other type of damage. I like that the heads of the bolts in the sides of the headboard and footboard are painted white so they dont show as much. Its an attractive piece of furniture, and the white is a true, pure white.
TRUNDLE ASSEMBLY / this couldnt have been technically easier. Four frame sections, wheels and slats. However, there is an error in the instructions. They specifically state that both end slats must be flush with the end of the frame and THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE if you want to attach those two boards to the frame. Placing them flush means the wood screw used to hold them in place doesnt go into the frame, but instead enters a gap along the railing / so it holds on to nothing.
I assumed Id done something wrong because they went out of their way to print an image showing the right/wrong way to place these two boards, but it wasnt me. My initial thought was to contact the manufacturer, but I only had the trundle (no the bed), and those instructions gave no contact information, nor could I find anything on the website.
After LOTS of head/scratching, re/reading instructions, a few curse words and scrolling through reviews, I finally found another purchaser that mentioned the exact same thing. She said she contacted the manufacturer and was told that the instructions were wrong, would be corrected, and that it would not compromise the safety of the bed if you moved the slats inward some so that they could be attached. My resolution was to start with attaching the middle slat (unlike instructed), then pulling each subsequent board taught and work my way out to the ends. This ensured the slack was only in the two outer boards.
This issue added an extra 45 minutes to my labor because I couldnt figure out what I was doing wrong, but the assembly was still easy for one person.
BED ASSEMBLY / again, super easy, just with a lot more parts. There was an error here too, but I didnt spend as much time on it. The two brackets attached to the mattress frame that hook into the headboard and footboard cant be positioned the same as the image in the instructions show. Regardless, as long as the hooks are facing down, it should be good, and this is what I went with. I assembled the bed in about an hour.
I havent purchased a mattress for the trundle yet, so I cant speak as to the size needed. I like that it can be put on the left or right side of bed, and even on a mid/height carpet it rolls easily.
Ive seen a lot of comments about the sturdiness of these beds. My grandson is young, so there wont be a lot of weight put on it, but if it doesnt hold up for whatever reason, Ill come back and update review.
Overall, super please with the product and would recommend. Just be forewarned about the assembly instructions to save yourself some time!
Only one day in, but loving it.
