Good, We bought the king for our new Purple mattress. Based on other reviews, we did add two 2x4s, each with 2 legs to support the slats and mattress. This thing will last a lifetime. We did drill the extra supports right into the frame because no one would see the screws against the wall and the screws on the end are covered by our comforter. If I did it again, I probably would have positioned them closer to the middle to make under bed storage easier/larger. Despite how heavy the box is, nearly all the weight is in the headboard. Once assembled, it is light weight (so fairly easy to move/reposition), but absurdly stable, especially with the extra 2x4s. As far as my husband and I are concerned, there are only two cons to this bed: 1) if you ever need to relocate the frame, you have to take it apart, which would be tricky, especially considering the added supports. And 2) most bed frames have a gap at the head of the bed between the headboard and the mattress. Wed adapted to putting reading pillows in the gap. With this frame, there is no gap, so we are further down the bed and lose some legroom. HOWEVER! We love this frame and couldnt be happier. Its silent when we move around, supports our mattress properly, and the headboard is stable enough to lean against safely. Compared to the 1500+ competition, its a no/brainer. It also looks really nice. I was very surprised by the quality of its appearance given the price. Lastly, having two people to assemble it was not necessary, but definitely made putting the velcro slats in place significantly easier. We put it together in the evening after Id run a half marathon and drove 3 hours in the car. If we could do it, you can too!
Exactly what we wanted!
