The Worst Piece Of Furniture In All Of Recorded Human History
It would take too long to explain all the problems I had with this product, but the experience was so upsetting that I contacted the manufacturer to let them know all the mistakes they made in designing this product. What follows is the entirety of the message I sent them. tl;dr shoddy product made in China with dozens of cost-cutting measures resulting in a flawed and DANGEROUS product.
I recently purchased two of your barstools (SKU BS0005GREEN-C), and I felt it necessary to reach out after my experience and plead that you please recall these products and fire whoever designed them.
These chairs are the worst pieces of furniture ever made in all of recorded human history. You have a moral obligation to remove these from the market at once.
What follows is a list of all the manufacturing errors and lack of quality control I discovered upon receiving my furniture:
1. The lining on the base of the cushions to protect the velvet was already torn off from the staples holding it. Too few staples placed too far apart, which hinders the quality of the attachment points (seriously, you guys cut costs on a couple staples?)
2. There are parts missing from the toolkit. The inventory states that 12 washers are used to assemble. Only 11 are included. Standard manufacturing process is to include two extra washers for any piece of furniture requiring them. Seriously, the only excuse for this is greed.
3. All of the parts have been machined wrong and unevenly. The allen wrench does not match the bolts provided. The legs are all different sizes, making the chair wobble under any circumstances.
4. The assembly instructions contain a multitude of errors. I have attached images to point out that there is clearly no quality control done, and no understanding of design by whoever made these. Note that the instructions list the parts with an alphabetical identification list beginning with A and ending with I. The very first step of assembly labels a part as J. There is no J and the part being labeled appears to be the allen wrench which is labeled as C in the inventory list.
5. Again on the instructions, the first image is a rendering of the fully assembled chair, with the square restraint holding the legs steady at the base of the chair on the OUTSIDE of the legs. In every other image, the restraint is depicted INSIDE of the legs. This led to the most confusion of all, as assembling the chair as depicted in the instructions is impossible due to where the holes are drilled on the legs. Seriously, if you're going to draw the instructions, at least assemble the chair yourself first.
6. Again on the instructions, the cushion is labeled as A on the inventory list, then in the assembly diagram it is labeled as 1. How? How do you make mistakes this dumb?
This chair is a danger to humanity, and you should all be ashamed of the work you do. Someone is going to get killed by this chair if it remains on the market under its current design and manufacturing process.
