Sturdy. I didnt like that it was supposed to be a full size bunk and it is a queen. The wood is nice but it is extremely short my son and I couldnt fit getting in the bottom bunk. I was exited to finally put my new bunk bed until it was built I was super disappointed especially when pregnant and about to have the baby your expecting something comfortable instead I get a crib for me personally. now I had to take down the top bunk and between my son my daughter and new born we are all sleeping in one bed
