It is possible to put this thing together without power tools and alone. Itll take about 4 hours because its a pain, but it is possible! FYI, some of the pre/drilled holes dont match up exactly. It seems sturdy. I climbed up on the top bunk and I felt safe, but I dont think it could withstand a lot of jumping around. My kids are kind of rambunctious so we will have to wait and see how long it lasts.
The main reason why I purchased this bunk bed is because of the celling fan in my boys room. It is really short, so I dont have to worry about a kid losing their head. Love it!
