The desk is very spacious. There were no assembly instructions, so I had to spend my time and energy tracking them down online and printing them. The wooden dowels were too long and pushed up into the desk top from beneath, causing bumps and cracked finish on the desk top in 3 different spots. We even made sure to tap the dowels down before placing and attaching the desk top. They were just simply too long. It is very frustrating and disappointing that my childs brand new loft bed desk is damaged. The thing is too big to disassemble and return. You need alot of patience to build this!
