The bench was tricky to put together and we did have one issue. When inserting the pegs into the underside of the top, my husband used a little too much force. One of peg went in too deep and created a protrusion on the top exposed side and cracked the finish. Instructions for assembly should warn against this. We considered sending it back, but had it nearly put together at that point. We tried to push it back down as best we could. Since it is not made of wood, it cant be repaired. Easy to assemble. Very sturdy.
