Very compact. I read the reviews before I bought this daybed and lots of people bought it for their kids or as a guest room bed. I had my teen grandson put this bed together along with the trundle . This bed is very, very sturdy, even for an adult. I live in a small apartment so I use it as a couch and sleep on it when the grand kids come over, love it.
