The hardware was mislabeled, rather parts not labeled, but through process of elimination we figured out which went where. We have a 10 inch memory foam top mattress, no box spring and the height is just fine on its own. However, we will have to purchase a 4 inch box spring due to a gap from where the mattress top sits and where the headboard begins. Its sucking our pillows down the gap and doesnt offer good back support. I dont know how we got a king platform as there are no other reviews for a king and they are no longer listing a king size. The platform also changed the firmness of our memory foam mattress, not for the better. Other than that its really soft.
