I purchased this as a replacement for a table purchased as a set that my lovely dog took out her separation anxiety on. The metal edges were an absolute necessity for that reason. So far, it had deterred her from chewing again. The bottom shelf doesnt feel as sturdy as the old table from a different manufacturer, but as it is only holding blankets at the moment, there is no issue with that. The color is slightly darker than the table it replaced and the coordinating end tables from that set, but barely noticeable. Pleased with the value of this purchase.
