I purchased this desk based on its style and the fact that it had concealed storage for wires. Prior to purchasing, I read other reviews which mentioned how long and difficult the assembly was. I can say without a doubt that this is 100% accurate. There were SEVERAL parts and it look me a good 4-5 hours to complete (although I did go slow to avoid making mistakes). Also, glue was involved during assembly which I found odd and cumbersome. Once assembled, the door to the concealed area did not stay flush to the front surface (it pops up a little). This isn’t a big deal since I placed a monitor over it to help hold it down. Inside the concealed area, there was plenty of room for a power strip and various plugs. It definitely helps to keep things more organized. The legs to the desk are metal and very sturdy. They should help make this piece last for a while. Overall, I like the end result, but I had to knock a star off for the difficult assembly and another star for the compartment door.
