This bed is everything I expected even prettier than I imagined. the grey looks lighter in person than did in pictures online. Which is a plus in my book, I was worried itd be too dark.
It took me (35 yo pregnant f), my sister (38 yo f), my nephew (17 yo m) 5 hours to put this together. My sister is a pro at building furniture with instructions Im pretty good. Nephew was there for muscle to help.
Note, 2 of the 3 boxes were 89lbs, another was 40-ish. I had a difficult time bringing them inside my apartment, but Im 6.5 months pregnant.
The majority of building you just need an allen wrench, which is included. Now, we also had 2 additional allen wrenches we had to speed up the building process... still took 5 hours, which does not include 30 minute break for lunch.
You will need a drill for connecting the wood slats once the frame is in place. And also for the brackets on the trundle. Also, the trundle should only be pulled out from the bottom, the top of the frame is the only thing on this whole bed that is not very sturdy. I am actually planning to install some drawer handles at the base of the trundle so that people pull from the handles are not tempted to pull from the top of the frame risk breaking it.
Part of the delay in the building process was 2 parts being mislabeled...took us at least an hour, after we moved on to build other sections to figure out why pieces werent lining up, they were labeled wrong. This was parts A B. Which is 2 of the posts of the full size/ bottom bunk. As soon as we encountered the issue, I tried calling customer service, could not get through. So I emailed them right away, photos included. Anyway, after building the top bunk separately, we revisited the bottom, really brainstorming, we figured that the pieces were mislabeled (not something we expected), anyway, after we swapped those 2 posts the rest was fairly straightforward.
I personally found the stairs to be the most difficult to put together. we had put a few pieces together (difficult to see from instructions) had to take apart turn those pieces. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying after 4 hours of putting it together.
After it was together its obviously beautiful. Im very pleased with the purchase.
We put this together on a Saturday. Busy weekend, didnt think about letting Customer Service know that we figured it out (a bit mentally braindead after 5 hours of building). Customer Service sent me a response on Monday saying how sorry they were about the parts being wrong (they didnt yet know that it was because they were mislabeled), they shipped out a whole new box with those parts, didnt even have to send them my address, nothing. I was still am thoroughly impressed.
I did let them know that we figured everything out, Ill be reaching out to them to return these pieces. I just think its worth noting, if youre skeptical to buy a bed on , as I was, no need, phenomenal Customer Service!
Beautiful sturdy bed!
