I picked this chair because it looked stylish, appeared to be good quality, and looked comfortable.
Comfort:
It was not exactly what I was expecting. It looks more plush than it actually is (it is rather firm). That said, Ive had it for almost a week now and have spent a lot of time at my desk, and it has grown on me. Now Im more of the mind that the firmness is good for what I got it for - a desk chair. It is not a chair a person would sink into to watch a movie in the living room, or curl up to read a book. Keep in mind the back is not tall - about 16.5-17, but it does well to support my lower back when I lean against it.
Utility:
I like that it spins, it has me seated a bit higher than my old plastic desk chair, and I think it is more ergonomic that way. The back and sides are rigid with padding, so it has good lumbar support if you lean back against it. The arms are really more of a shape and support for the back I think, since they taper too low for me to rest my arms on them - which I do not mind. I thought that I would potentially regret not getting a chair with wheels, but since I do not need to move around much at my desk, the fact that the chair spins freely really makes that a non issue. In fact, not having wheels saves me from any difficulty with my carpet, buying a wheel pad, etc.
Assembly:
The assembly was simple, and the parts seem well made. Initially I was very impressed with how well made the actual chair portion is. I still am, but I did find a thread already coming out of the stitching near the seat, which has me nervous, but we will see.
Overall:
I am happy with my purchase and would recommend the chair to others.
