Extremely well constructed and engineered gun safe.... not a light weight tin cabinet. The locking feature is heavy duty and very easy to operate with either a key or combination lock. Adequate room for 5 rifles - one with scope and bipod - and a pistol compartment. Most importantly, it dont break the bank.
The safe arrive in a couple days. Its solid, sturdy but weight made it easy to move to desired location. It fits where I needed too. The locks were easy to setup following directions and work great. For those that need a smaller safe for a couple items, this safe works great!
Safe arrived on time and in great condition no damage. Setting the security system was very easy. Directions
were easy to follow. the accessory was a great bonus. Have mentioned to relatives what a great safe to have to
protect you firearms...
I am giving the rating of the Moutec model QHXP029A cabinet 5 stars because it is an exceptional value for less than $300. My primary purpose of the cabinet is to keep firearms away from children. I chose this model because I have issues with finger-print readers; I believe finger-print readers can be spoofed where it requires an actual knowledge of the code to get access. The features that I like are as follows:
? The cabinet locks with 5 dead bolts which is the common approach used by safes that cost thousands of dollars.
? The code can be up to 8 digits
? Requiring an extra key to be pressed after the code is entered
? The predrilled holes to mount the cabinet to the floor and/or wall.
? The way the key access is concealed
? The locking cabinet inside
? The pad on the floor of the cabinet
The following are some things that I would like to see improved, upgraded, or to be a new model.
? Eliminate the door rattle when pressing the key pad. The door rattle makes it sound like a gym locker. I eliminated the door rattle by adding adhesive felt strips in back of the three side bolts.
? Have the key pad illuminate all the elements on the pad once the first key is pressed, and stay illuminated until the final key is pressed. This will enable easier access in the dark. This will likely require a more robust key pad.
? The ability to adjust the volume of the beep when an unauthorized code is entered. The current beep is too quiet.
? The ability of adjust the volume, and duration of the beep after the failure of the third attempt. I would like to hear a failed access alarm anywhere in my house.
? Lock out access via the key pad after third failed code entry, and require key access.
? Consider using 12-gauge steel instead of 14-gauge steel. This would make the cabinet more robust at the cost of about 30 lbs. , by my estimate.
If my suggested improvement could be done by adding not more than $100 to the cost of the cabinet, it would be, by far, the best rifle cabinet on the market with respect to cost.
Some of the best customer service I have received from a company. I lost my key to my safe and the response from the company was amazingly fast. They sent out m new key the next day, with a gift. I recommend this product, and I give the company an A+ in customer service!
The product is really great so far. Easy to unlock and lock back up. I love the fact that they have a lock box inside where I can put my ammunition and handguns. I highly recommend this rifle safe.
