First of all this is made of solid wood and at this price ($120). It is a steal. Assembly was really easy because the lift top portion was pre-installed. It took about 20 mins with 2 people. Very sturdy none of the wood came scratched or broken. Even the Styrofoam came wrapped so it doesnt crumble everywhere. 5 stars beautiful coffee table!
The perfect size for a normal sized couch with a chaise lounge taking up some space. It fits perfectly and is ideal for one person when raised. Perfect for eating dinner in front of the TV or if you game with the TV as your display. The finish is not super smooth but slightly rough which might lead to water rings if a glass is left too long. Use coasters. Not particle board but good, solid wood.
Personally I love this coffee table. Assembly was a slight pain but nothing crazy and the extra storage with the lift top is really nice. The top also locks in the perfect position to use as a table when Im watching TV on the couch. I do have a low couch so YMMV on the usefulness of that but for me it is great. You can fit more than you would think in the lift top compartment and it is a nice low-key storage area. For me this was a great buy and I recommend it.

If your a female just be careful if you are doing your nails on the coffee table. The acetone can wipe off the paint on the coffee table.
