Love the bed. My boys are happy. I love the smell it gives off of fresh wood its nice and very clean looking. No complaints however putting it together was a bitch but we got it finally
Despite the fact the bed is particle board, it looks quite nice, was easily assembled and appears sturdy. My only caveat is, many of the places where screws need to be used arent predrilled. Dont assume you can assemble without a drill.
I dont like to write reviews but this bed is awesome only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the slats. “Theres not enough SLATS.Im for sure this slats would brake if some one heavy enough sleep in it especially the top bunk. used the old bedslats I had from the old bed and bought few woods at the Hardware store for the bottom full mattress. it worked well and pretty sturdy. Hopefully sees this review and remedy that safety (slats) issue.
The bed arrived in a huge beat up box after waiting 3 months. The wood itself is nice but came with tons of little nicks and dings. To be fair, my kids are going to add more from playing on them but when you spend this much and wait for months to get it, the wood shouldnt be damaged.
Did you know that this bedis rated for 400 lbs?!? That's amazing! They are so beautiful, easy to assemble, and they are sturdy! I love them and am thrilled with my purchase. Of course, the price ain't bad either. I highly recommend these beds. We bought Beauty Rest mattresses and since we don't need box springs, the entire purchase was so affordable. Great for grandkids and great for guests.
This is a good bed but I am amazed at some of the reviews that I read here:
-This is NOT that easy to assemble. The hieroglyphic instructions made my eyes cross. Once I did the first bed the second was easier but I strongly recommend the company make an assembly video. You can do it but it took me all day to get it done and I am fairly handy although no carpenter. Getting the wood slats into the top and bottom side rails was tricky. I suggest you do it vertically instead of across the floor. put the first piece down on the floor and insert the slats down into it. Then lower the second piece DOWN onto the slats from left to right at an angle, one at a time. Getting the heavy box upstairs with no hand holds was fun.... Be careful!
-400lbs per bed? Maybe but I sure wouldn't. And if you sleep under a 400lb person you are tempting fate. I would limit the top bunk to much less weight. Also the bottom bunk doesn't have enough wood slats across it for support. I plan to go buy some more plywood to strengthen it for my full size futon. Also the manufacturer should have a second lengthwise metal support. Both beds (/full) each have one metal bar support that is held by a bracket attached by 4 tiny little screws.
-Some pieces including two of the ladder steps and the long rear top bunk rails, are held only by wooden dowels. They should be bolted.
-The blue paint finish is barely just fair. Blotchy.
***It may sound like I hate this bed but I don't. It is still a pretty fair choice and you will probably be happy with it... at least after you get all put together lol.
****TO THE PERSON WHO GOT HIT IN THE HEAD when her six year old pulled the top rails out of place: Did you remember to drive the three screws into the vertical support next to the ladder? They are in a triangular pattern but are behind the support and easy to miss.
I would have given it 4 stars if they had an assembly video and better support under the mattresses. 5 stars if they fixed those wood dowels and improved the paint a little bit.
I purchased this bed with the trundle for the grandkids since I didnt want beds. What I didnt like was the width between the slats and the issues of breakage reported in the reviews. I looked into buying bunkie boards to place on the slats but that would of been too think for the trundle, so I added pieces of finished plywood on top of the slats.
After researching what material to buy I went to the local big box hardware store and had them cut 1/2 inch thick finished plywood to 38 by 75 for the top and 38 by 74 for the trundle. Worked perfect as a platform plus there has been no issues with any breakage. I believe if you want to use plywood on a full bed it has to be thicker than 1/2, also I bought the ready to paint or stain plywood so the finish would not be rough and I didnt need to sand it.

Great, but you need a drill.

A very good value!
This is a fine bed frame, the color is good and it was relatively easy to assemble
Sturdy but slats are a problem

Where do I start.
