I really like everything about the LOL River Race Water Slide. I appreciate the opportunity to test it and can report back after several kid parties that it has been a big hit.
Setting it up takes about 10 minutes max. I put down a tarp as an underlayment. I also put down some flattened cardboard boxes underneath the pool area to soften the slide landing area. I would highly recommend this to keep the bottom safe from rocks, sticks and other debris that could cause a hole.
The blower is powerful and inflates it in less than 60 seconds. It keeps it fully lofted and easily supports the 350 lbs weight rating. Ive testing it out and found that after about 250 lbs the top area begins to sag under the weight. For 4-10 year olds this equates to 4 kids sitting up their just fine.
The 3 spray nozzles do an excellent job of wetting the slide. I turn the hose on high to fill the pool and then turn it way down to low for use. It wastes much less water and doesnt need much to make it work. The frequency of the tipping bucket will change with the water flow you have it set at.
The material feels very durable. I am very impressed with the quality of the whole kit. When taking it down after use I first stand on the pool edge to get most of the water out of the pool, then deflate it and pick it up to dump the remaining water out of the pool area. Then re-inflate it to let it dry out for about 20 minutes. It dries fastest in the sun.
Then I let it sit overnight in a dry area like a garage before packing it up in the included carry bag.
It is a great kit. If you make sure to use an underlayment and dont keep it out in the sun for more days than you need to, it should last a long time. Sunlight will fade and weaken it over time. If you want to leave it out for extended amounts of time, like say all summer. I would recommend finding a way to cover the deflated slide with a tarp or shade cloth of some sort to keep the UV rays off it.
This is a lot of fun for the younger age range. It folds up and stores in the included gym sized bag. 2 people make setup and take down much easier. It can be done solo however. I would recommend it. It is costly but I feel you get what you pay for with this one. 5 stars.
**Update** - July 8th, 2019 - Be careful how you store it. Make sure it is dry first. I would leave it out in the sun and wind and keep it inflated until it is completely dry. You will want to store this in a conditioned and dry environment. Dont make the mistake I did and leave it outside lightly folded up. I had it in the shade but it still got wet from rain and then mildewed. The mildew is extremely hard to get off. It will take bleach, steam and scrubbing. Softscrub and a sponge did little to remove it. It is big and there is a lot of area to cover if you end up having to clean it. Make sure you have the proper amount of space and a conditioned dry storage area to keep it when not in use.
I ordered this item and before I received it with the Prime shipping (2days) the price dropped by $100, unfortunately when reaching out to customer service even though the price changed before I even received the item they would not price match for me.
Other than the customer service the item is great.
GREAT quality material! Smaller than I expected but still wonderful! We purchased for a 5th birthday and she LOVES it!! 10/10 would recommend!
This is our 6th summer with this slide and its still up and running. We havent always put it away the best and its had some holes because of it but weve patched it and its still holding up. All of my kids and the neighborhood kids enjoy it every year! I cant compare this to other slides because we havent needed another, but I would recommend this slide to anyone!
Blew up quickly, was mostly easy to assemble. We dont have a pool yet so this will make the hot summer days much more bearable. My 3 year old loves it. She easily climbed the wall and thought the slide was exciting. The pool at the bottom is nice for more kids who are waiting their turn to slide. Only downside was trying to empty the water - theres no release valve so you have to tip over this massive and heavy blow up castle before letting the air out. Theres a bag to store it in but it definitely doesnt fold down to the small size it came as- so make sure you have good room for storage.
I got this for my nephew and he loves it he is about 4 years oldthey only thing was that I didnt read the whole title and it didnt come with a blower other then that it pretty big and kids love it
This is an awesome product. We love it, its easy to set up and my kid is obsessed. That being said, be careful. As we all know, water and electricity dont mix. The first time I used it, I had the blower on the grass as far away as I could from the water.. because the hose leaks outside the bouncer walls. The water started traveling too close for my comfort after awhile and I pulled the plug so to speak. Just make sure the blower is on higher ground like my pictures. Im sure everyone knows that, but it was tugging at my heart to post. Other than that, its great!
I like the name, as it suggests this thing just popped up and ready for you to turn up the water.
I used it twice already with a bunch of kids and it lasted pretty well.
Folding into a small bag is challenging - but reasonable. You need to drain and dry it, then fold - its a hassle compared to the mere seconds it takes to set up.
Owning an inflatable is just great - a party on a nice warm day immediately becomes exciting and fun. This did not intimidate the younger ones and also attracted the older ones.
I found the material and finish to be resilient, didnt see a need to use a tarp. The colors and design are very bright and fun.
It can be pretty nice when dry but the real fun begins, evidently, when you turn the water on.
Leaving the hose connected is recommended - did not see a reason to remove it.
Actually just bought this slide for the second time and the little ones are thrilled We first bought this product about 8 years ago, my older three children got about 4-5 years of use out of it. We have a three year old who used it for the first time yesterday and he is over the moon for it. My nine year old (who was two when we first bought) is having all the nostalgia and can still enjoy it, but shes definitely on the tall side of nine and its not really ideal for her but shes making it work to play with little bro. Lol Really I would put the age range at 2-8 for the size of kids in our family.
We let it dry completely before storing it every time (just deflate it, dump the water out, move it to a different part of the years and reinflate for an hour or two in the sun, then fold up and store) and I think thats why ours lasted longer than some with no mildew or dry rot whatsoever. Never left it up more than 3 days at a time.
It finally stopped getting a firm inflation, likely because our kids got older and bigger (and all kept getting in it at once) and theres only so much the stitching holes will take before they each start letting out a little air and its no longer firm enough to support multiple bigger kids. Also we had parties where lots of larger kids hung out at the top, so that pretty well did our first one in.
Air pump always worked well so we hung onto it in case we could use it with something else. Overall a great product, with proper care cost us a little less than $100 per season.
I must say that we immediately became the coolest house in the neighborhood once we got this water/bouncy toy. All kids are obsessed with this inflatable.
It is essentially a rock climbing wall with a tower and two slides that go into a pool. How cool! My 4.5 year old could do the rock climbing wall with no problem and my 2.5 year old could do it just fine. I should note that my 2.5 year old has practiced (with my help) on a rock all many times before and the other 2.5 year old boy neighbor hasnt quite figured it out yet.
BONUS- you can use this inflatable wet or dry! It is just as fun to play castle and dragons as it is to play when wet. This inflatable comes with steaks for the ground and a blower- so you are set and ready to go!
A must to know- is that if you are playing with this inflatable wet, you MUST dump all water out and let it inflate dry until all water is gone. If you dont, it will not last (and can get mold etc when storing in the winter).
This inflatable comes with a patch kit. I have not used this kit yet (phew) but it is nice to know it is available if needed.
Just know that your troop will have a blast with this inflatable!!!
