The frame arrived yesterday and it took about an hour and a half for me to put it together by myself. I had to open it in the garage and bring up in sections as the whole thing was too heavy for me to carry.
The bronze is definitely more of a dark brown, but it seems sturdy and solid. No scratches, missing pieces or broken parts as other review here stated. If anything changes Ill be sure to post an update
Honestly pretty surprised. I didnt have any specific expectations, I just needed a full size daybed to hold a spare mattress in a spare room. Putting the frame together i thought, wow it seems pretty sturdy, a little noisy, but sturdy. Then you clip on these plastic locking devices that lock the support rails together it quiets right down. Super stoked on the purchace. Btw, I put together by myselfa bit tricky to do alone at first, but once the base is together it goes pretty quick. Simple instructions.
Missing pieces. Seller was not helpful in replacing parts or arranging a return. Finally called manufacturer and they shipped us the piece. Seller gets one star, manufacturer 5 stars. Bed itself 5 stars. Sturdy, good looking piece.
We bought this for our daughter 3 years ago. We recently upgraded her to a frame and foam mattress. Why? The squeaking. It started out fine for the first year. Slowly, over time the entire frame seemed to wear in and as my daughter moved in her sleep, the bed would squeak HORRIBLY. On the plus side, since she has asthma the audible squeaking was a good indicator of how much deep sleep she was getting and how well her asthma was controlled. More shifting and movement indicated less restful sleep and coincided with increased allergy and asthma symptoms. So a good thing, I guess? It also meant that since Im a relatively light sleeper, I would be woke up several times a night as she moved in her sleep. It was loud enough that when she was upstairs asleep and my husband and I were downstairs watching a movie, you could hear it loud and clear. My husband attempted tightening every fitting on it, but it didnt help. Finally, I decided she needed an upgrade. The daybed is moving into the loft over the detached garage as a guest bed since my brother often comes to visit and could sleep through anything and its an upgrade from the air mattress he was using out there. Is it cute? Yes. Easy to clean? Yes. Silent? No. Dont say I didnt warn you.
