solid frame. not too hard to assemble. supports weight of two petite adults easily for use as sofa/daybed.
the thing i didnt like is that when I attempted to cancel the order, the company rejected the request because the item was about to ship (I finally got a notice several days or a week later saying it shipped). I found the sales tactic a little sneaky. It would be better if the company would state a very clear cancellation policy up front.
It was time for a couple of big boy beds and these were exactly what we needed! The color matched perfectly with the existing espresso dressers we already had. There is just enough room for mommy and daddy to fall asleep with them and sneak out. Excellent quality, will buy from this company again.
Overall, the bunkbed will work for us However, we will be purchasing stronger slats for the bed above. They flex a little too much and my son is only 4. Also, the side rails on the top are not very strong. Ill be finding stronger wood and painting it black to replace these eventually. I dont see them being a problem at the moment but as my son gets bigger they wont hold him in if he rolls into them.
ASSEMBLY ADVICE: Get a bottle of wood glue (4oz is plenty) and use it during assembly for the head and footboard assembly (both ends). Using it on the headend slats means that they dont clack around or make a noise as they are otherwise loose in their slots. Using it on every other joint groove where you find bare wood just makes it all extra sturdy. Dont use too much glue otherwise it will ooze out or drip, but you can wipe it off.
This goes together really easily but do follow the instructions. I bought several so the first one took longer / the main thing is to ensure that everything goes the right way up and the right way round as several parts could go either way and you dont want to take it apart and flip it once you realise / and you cant if youve glued!. In particular, ensure that the central support bar is horizontal and right under the base slats. If its at an angle, youve got the footboard piece upside down. Use an electric drill to fix the base slats. Everything else by hand. It should all take less than an hour to assemble.
Note: This appears to be the same as another product under a different brand. Id bought that one previously but it was out of stock so I bought this one instead and all parts seems to be identical. Search for B07Y5XTFC4 if this one is out of stock.
One thing I didnt like is that they use styrofoam/polystyrene in the packaging which cant be recycling. Im sure its the best and the bed arrived in perfect condition but Id prefer card or something else.
After reading the reviews and going to their direct website, I decided to get these bunk beds for my kids, 3 and 6 yr olds. First off, the assembly will take about 3 hours even with another adult to help. There are no words just picture directions. You do need enough space because you are basically building 2 twin beds separately before putting one on top of the other. The wood is not sturdy and one of the bed legs have a crack and I could not tighten the bolt good because the wood was cracking. The beds move a good amount when my 6 yr old who weights 55lbs gets on top. The wood slacks do make noise and I hope they dont break, as other reviews stated they did. I figured for a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old these bunks would be okay, for at least for 2 years, but just 1 night in them, I dont know if they will last a few months. The ladder is okay, but the space could be divided a little differently, the top space is to apart and the bottom space is to close. The bed already have marks on them, the wood is very delicate. Also the smell of the paint is strong, we did air them out for 1 night before putting the mattresses on them and letting the kids sleep on them. Not to mention I dont think it can hold up to 400 lbs, I am 165lbs and I am scared to get on it.
Instructions pretty well/written. It does take time to assemble but thats to be expected. It was a warehouse deal and supposedly there was missing hardware but I had everything needed. Very well/made and attractive. Would buy again.
The packing kept it from getting any damage during shipping. Good quality and great value for the cost. It was very easy to assemble. Myself and my 10 year old daughter put it together without any confusion. She loves it!!!!!
I would recommend the bed!!

Works but will require some tweaks.
