I dont give five/star ratings out unless theyre truly deserved. I love this bed! For the price, especially, Im amed at the quality. Ive sent two beds back to Pottery Barn Kids because of defects/damage and they were easily twice the price of this bed with none of the quality. It took my son less than an hour to assemble the bed. One thing Im truly happy about is that the exposed hardware is colored to match the wood so there are no glaringly exposed screws. Its also not a terribly high profile bed so its easy for the kids to get in and out of it, and I dont worry so much about falls. I would readily recommend this bed, and as soon as my youngest grandchild is ready for a big bed, Im buying another!
I would like to give a good review, but I didnt receive the assembly manual and the product support page has the wrong model installation guide, and a Boss log splitter manual for a log splitter machine, not a bunk bed manualwtf?
Updated to 3 for initial quality and price: After wasting an hour chatting with Support and searching the manufacturers website, I was able to find the correct installation guide.
My updated review of the bunk beds is this:
Good: /The overall quality of the wood and sturdiness of the beds (if assembled correctly) is good.
/The color matched the website.
Bad: /The Allen wrench provided is very cheap and starts to bend and twist right away during use.
/The installation guide that was not provided in the box (I had to find it on the manufacturer website) is not very clear. All of the wood pieces were labeled with numbers, but in the guide they are labeled with letters. All the hardware were labeled with letters, but in the installation guide, they were labeled with numbers. If I werent a mechanically minded person, this would have been a very difficult and confusing process.
I am not sure how people got so confused about their order. If you read what is being shipped, instead of just looking at the pictures, you should have no problem.
I happily purchased my trundle to use as extra storage. It is fantastic for that purpose because it is very strong and solid. I am currently using mine the long way (opposite as it was intended). I have it under my king size bed and have it filled edge to edge with stacks of my clothes. Even though the sides are a bit low, I am still able to stack jeans tees about 5 to 6 high. I have hoodies stacked in piles of three. It holds an incredible amount of clothes this way. Surprisingly, nothing tips over or falls out of the drawer when I pull it in or out. Trust me, I am constantly pulling it in and out, looking for one thing or another. I have had it a few months now, and am very pleased with how well it has taken all of my use. It always feels very solid and never twists or flexes when I am pulling on it.
My trundle/ drawer was very easy to build. The directions were clear and straightforward. I was a bit worried when I discovered a piece missing (I think it fell out of a hole in the box during shipping). Either way, I was able to easily contact the seller through my orders page and they immediately sent my missing piece. I received it quickly and was able to finish the installation (adding my own wheels so that it would pull in and out in the opposite direction).
I would definitely recommend this as storage or a trundle. I think it is perfect for a kids room because it will hold up to a lot of use. I love mine and only wish I had discovered it sooner. Its wonderful having so much extra room in my closet now!
This is marketed for younger kids but we actually purchased this for my teenager who was going for a countryside or cape cod feel. We purchased the full size!
Its beautiful and heavy duty!!!! Great value!!! Ones just like this at our local furniture store were upwards of 1k!!!! It was easy to assemble. We did need a power drill but super easy to drill the screws. Bed fits perfectly and looks beautiful!!!!
For the bottom bunk you need two 4 and two 5 pieces and this case with four 4 so I had to drill holes where they were missing. Also as other were saying the slats are too far apart so I got a piece of plywood to go over them. I also dont like that the only thing holding the top to the bottom is small wooden dowels, Im planning on getting metal brackets to reinforce. I like the beds I just dont want to have to do my own modifications.
I purchased this bed for my 4 year old daughter as a good transitional bed she can use now and hopefully into her teens. I am skeptical of large pieces of furniture that come in one box and require assembly. The shipping box was sturdy with normal scuffs and wear from shipping. The contents were packed well with pieces being individually wrapped and protected. I ordered the gray finish and all of the parts were well coated and there was no foul off gassing from the parts. The wood is solid pine, which is a soft wood, but all of the components were machined well and fit together great. I had no issues with missing pieces or miss drilled holes, and no alignment issues at all. The hardware supplied was good quality, with the visible bolts powder coated to match the finish. I recommend using slightly longer screws when securing the mattress support slats to the side rails, as the ones supplied were not long enough to bite into the rails. I used wood glue when assembling the vertical slats and end posts for the head and foot board, figured it couldnt hurt. I glued the ladder assembly as well. When screwing down the mattress support slats, I loosened the side rail bolts and used a ratchet strap to pull the rails tight to the end of the slats. The mattress support slats seemed like they were cut a little short, so by using the ratchet strap I was able to pull the side rails tight to the ends of the mattress support slats without marring the finish on the rails. It worked great doing that and using the longer screws that I mentioned. I may add additional slats to the full and twin frames for extra support. Overall I am totally pleased with the end result, quality parts, finish and hardware. The instructions were clear and illustrated parts and hardware well. I had about 3 hrs into the assembly and taking my time with gluing certain parts. Definitely recommend this bed for quality and price.
I would like to provide my feedback on twin over twin bunk bed in Espresso finish.
(1) Delivery was smooth, a representative was very polite and nice and there was no damage on the box;
(2) After inspection, it was determined that there are no missing parts. Assembly instructions are understandable, each piece is marked and h/w packages are labeled to avoid any ambiguity;
(3) Very easy assembly. However, there are some moments to note:
a. Have a screw driver with 1 and 2 drill bits to speed up the process;
b. Allen wrench is made from very soft steel and bends/twists / have some allen key set to complete the assembly right away;
c. No h/w connecting lower and upper levels / would be great to have some steel plates with screws to connect and make it sturdier;
(4) There is no odor as some people remarked.
Recommendation to the manufacturer: allen wrench should be made of heavier metal; more planks should be added; there should be some h/w to connect bottom and top parts of the bed; and predrilled holes for dowel pins should be smaller, so pins sit tight.
If the manufacturer takes my recommendations into consideration, this bed deserves 5/5 stars.
Hope this review will be helpful.

Easy peasy
Nice product. Easy assembly. Think the slats were a bit sparse but overall a really nice product!
Decent bed, but no Installation Guide given in the box

Decent for price
A thicker bed would be better for top. Added a few additional slats up top. Easily can fit trundle
