Overall 4 stars, because of the price. Id consider it ok quality and sturdiness. NOT load bearing and I wouldnt stand on it. But serves its purpose well.
More difficult than IKEA assembly.
Main take away, same/similar table can be seen at stores for possibly twice the price.
Quality of materials and manufacturing isnt good. Warning: the metal will bend fairly easy during tightening. So hand tighten as the directions indicate. See pictures, theres some misalignment with the materials. I could make some adjustments to align properly. Although, not a big issue.
Honestly, the quality of materials and manufacturing are what I expected: just ok for its purpose. If I wanted something sturdier, Id have to drop 300+ or simply build my own. This table is overall cheaper for my purposes.
Some people will have difficulty with construction. If you struggle with IKEA, get some help. IKEA is fairly simple to me, but Im a bit advanced in carpentry so it wasnt an issue.
Overall, I like the desk other than the color of the base/legs. Its more mustard in color than gold. I was expecting it to be more matte gold. Its sturdy but the assembly is a little bit of a pain. There were slots that dont line up with the pegs, thus, I need to leave a portion of the table I screwed, otherwise, the table will crack.
Normally I do not write reviews. After looking for different corner desks I selected this one.
What I liked:
1) The L/Format, the frame is metallic and it seems stable.
2) Enough space. You can see it in the photos. I have two work spaces with two Ultrawide 34 monitors, and I have space for laptops, notebooks, drawing tablet, etc
3) The steel frame allows to use Mount/t Monitor Desk Stand to hold the two (not so light) 34 Ultrawide monitors. You can see in the last photo how I used the frame. With some creativity, you could have used the board, but you would need another separate piece of board. Just be sure to buy a Monitor Desk Stand that clamps the steel bar underneath.
4) Some people complain about the Engineering board. It is a little more than 1/2. But if you are not planning to do heavy squats on top of the board, or testing your last 100lb hammer, or doing jumping squats or doing something else on it, should be OK. Even if the board is damaged for some reason you can buy a stronger board in Home Depot or Lowes and with some creativity replace the board. The important thing is the steel frame, and the L/shape to me.
5) There is good space for the legs underneath.
6) Also, the Customer Service was very good.
A lot more room than I expected. Very chic looking and sturdy quality.
Would definitely have been a bit easier to assemble with an extra set of hands but with patience it was very doable.
Only caution I have is to not over tighten the bolts that attach the top to the frame. The bolts are long enough to push through the top. I think the instructions could have emphasized that. It did to warn not to over tighten the bolts on the frame until it was all together, thats good advice as I found out.
Really though, the instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
Terrible assembly instructions, extremely frustrating to put together and to make matters worse one of the screw holes doesnt work so now the top of the desk is sticking out. Attached pic
As for the product itself, the gold is very cheap looking and the desk doesnt align properly. I guess you get what you pay for.
